Taking the fight against international terrorism underwater in this aquatic turn-based strategy game.

Jam Submission Notes

WebGL version added during the voting period. The default resolution is 960x540 which meant we had to up the font sizes of everything so you could read it!

Features we created in the jam:

  • Almost all 3D assets created in Blender during the jam
  • 3D navigation with elevation in a turn based game (harder than it seems)
  • Different mission objectives, disarm explosives, retrieve intel, etc.
  • Kelp as cover that lets you see out of it, but the enemy can't see in
  • Naval mines that have a chance to explode when you're near them
  • Environmental interactables like a hydro-thermal vents
  • Shots that miss go slightly off target and can hit other units (even friendly)
  • RNG only used for chance to hit calculations and 100% means 100%
  • Chance to hit based on actual visibility of the unit from a given cell
  • On-screen tactical information for chance to hit from any given cell
  • Knife melee attack as part of movement, with action points restored on a kill
  • AI so good it can play the game itself (see "Demo Game")
  • 4 levels of different sizes and with different unit and weapon setups
  • 4 unique weapon types based on real-world weapons (3 at least)
  • 8 units with individual backstories and face graphics
  • Music and sound effects

Features planned but ran out time to implement:

  • Joker system that assigned a random one-shot per level effect for unit
  • Damage lowering by distance after a certain range
  • Weapon range lowering by depth in water (this is a real thing!)
  • Depth charges that can be dropped on enemies
  • Health packs to heal friendly units
  • Meta-game stat increased per unit (chance to hit, movement distance, etc.)
  • Jellyfish that randomly move 1 square each turn and may sting units
  • See our up coming Devlog for more detailed information on all these features.

We intend to update the game post-jam and release it with the all the planned features.
