Your Uncle has invited you to visit him at the site of his latest exploration - an abandoned complex of mines and smugglers caves at a remote coastal location.

On arrival the place is deserted and there's no sign of your Uncle. Fearing he may have had an accident you venture inside the mines, only to suffer a fall of your own.

As you look up at daylight far above the now broken ladder, you realize there is nowhere to go but deeper underground.

A classic dungeon-crawler style game with a vertical dimension and exploration on both solid ground and underwater.

Game Jam Theme

Our interpretation of the duality theme was above water vs below water and the interaction between them. The movement, enemies, AI, lighting, sound and effects were very different between the two elements. Underwater requires oxygen tanks to breathe, and masks to see clearly, whereas on dry land you can breathe but you can't go vertically up and down without ladders. Plus, we have a coin you can toss, although we did incorporate a third possibility.

Dungeon Level

In case you get lost or didn't have time to play the whole game, here is the map with all the puzzles and locations shown.

Played for a while earlier today, loved it amazing idea!

Thanks for playing Dungeon Diver. We really enjoyed doing it and look forward to participating again this year. It would be great to see you in the jam this year too if you can make it. When the theme for the TBT24 jam came up as "Underwater" we couldn't believe it. We actually groaned and said "not again", but it worked out quite well for us in the end. We never really started off trying to make underwater games, it's just happened to us!

Absolutely loved it =) great game especially one made in such a short time for a jam =) keep up the amazing work and lefta a follow! Your game is first in the vid!

Thank you so much for doing that and playing our game. It's been invaluable for us to watch the bits you struggled with and the bits you enjoyed. We worked solidly on this for the whole week (night and day) and we still missed some fundamental things that you helped us understand. We really appreciate you time and effort here.
